Computer Aided Structural and Geometric Design of Power Lines
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper describes an integrated computer environment for the structural design of new power lines, the evaluation of existing lines, and their long term management. The detailed content of the data files that need to be accessed is presented. Implementation of commonly used design and archiving functions on a workstation should help design optimization, reduce design mistakes and resul considerable gains in engineering productivity.

s-power series: an alternative to Poisson expansions for representing analytic functions
Morin and Goldman [Computer Aided Geometric Design 17 (2000) 813] have recently presented a remarkable new framework, based on employing Poisson series, for describing analytic functions in CAD. We compare this Poisson formulation with s-power series, modified Newton series that can be regarded as the two-point analogue of Taylor expansions. Such s-power series yield, over finite intervals, bet...

متن کاملSurface Interrogation in Computer Aided Geometric Design
Geometric modelling of vehicle bodies like cars, airplanes, ships etc. uses the geometric concepts of freeform spline curves and surfaces. The quality of these models can be analysed with several surface interrogation tools like curvature plots, isophotes, highlight and reflection lines. In this paper several approaches to reflection lines are reviewed. The main aim of the paper is to reveal the...
متن کاملAn Integrated Approach to Geometric Modeling
Solid modeling has been recognized as a powerful computer -aided design tool, being informationally complete and semantically well-formed. However, it is insufficient by itself to support the design process of complex artifacts such as buildings , since it lacks the abstraction properties provided by computer-aided drafting tools. This paper presents an integrated approach to geometric modeling...
